AAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Montgomery Scott in the 24th Century.

Found this on TrekMovie.com; it's a pretty amusing parody of the intro to the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series:

By the way, is it too nerdy of me to know that Scotty was actually recovered in 2369, rather than 2368?

I thought so.

You're a Star Trek novelist -- it's your job to know that....
At the very least, it's my job to know where to go find that info. Still, I found it amusing that noted the discrepancy instantly.

I am Fanboy. Hear me bitch.

That still doesn't negate the fact that he's a huge frakkin' nerd...
I've got my issues with the official line on when each year of TNG adventures begins and ends, so ...no. Not too nerdy.
Much too nerdy. You're destined to die a virgin, fanboy.
I wondered if they changed the date to make the "seventy-five years" thing work... then I remembered that Scotty was actually lost in 2294, not 2293. So now who's a big nerd?

In any case, the working title for The Future Begins was Monty Scott in the 24th-and-a-Half Century!, though admittedly that probably owes more to "Duck Dodgers"...

Steve
Maybe Scotty was a closeted Duck Dodgers fan?
My speculations on Scotty's video entertainment preferences aside, I'm still hung up on those references to specific dates and time frames scattered from "Data's Day"(set in the Hindu Festival of Lights date of whatever year it was set) to "Future Imperfect" to "Conundrum", which suggested to me the following:

  • Season 1: 2363-'64
  • Season 2: 2364-'65
  • Season 3: 2365-'66...

And onward. So perhaps the dates are closer to fact than popularlyt believed?
