The new Star Trek trailer.

Thanks to [info]od0_ital. Boo-yah.

Is it the same Star Trek I grew up with? Probably not, at least in a handful of minor or even cosmetic things about which I ultimately don't care.

Does it still feel like Star Trek?

Yeah, I think it does.

You're welcome.

I'm still in the "I hope it doesn't suck" fan group...
Yeah, I like that.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up (I still don't much like the all-white-and-chrome bridge . . . works for the outside of a Mac but not the inside of a ship), but that looked pretty good.
I've only seen the bridge from one or two angles, so I'm not yet sold one or the other on it. I was the same way with the first shots of the ship. The very first shot was very unflattering, but other angles are quite striking.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but it's hard not to get excited :)
"James T. Kirk was a great man. But that was another life."

I love the music. I love the emotional tapestry the trailer manages.

My Star Trek buttons are punched.

I'm there.
I can't wait to hear the full score. I know the trailer's cut to amp the action/etc, but there's also enough there to punch my Trek buttons, too.

And even though I've only heard two lines of dialogue from him, I think Bruce Greenwood's gonna kick ass as Pike. Then again, I'm biased, as an unabashed Greenwood fan.
That was awesome. We are so ready here.
Well, I like it a lot better than the previous trailer, and I'm a little closer now to "cautiously optimistic." But we'll see.
I'm cautiously optimistic that you might achieve cautious optimism.
Well, I've been called (too) easily entertained before ... but I've been totally jazzed by everything I've seen so far. DS9 was my favorite of the franchises after TOS because it seems closest to the spirit of TOS, just a bit more mature ... and everything I've seen of the new film has that feel. Not the sanitised, sterile, spiritless USS OverAchiever feel of the films after #4.

I'm in. I have high hopes and expectations. They may be dashed, but I'm ready for a fresh wind to blow through the Trek universe, and this film is looking like a great ride. %-)
I don't know what it feels like, but this trailer has made me really want to see this film.
Thanks to [info]calhoun24, here's the "real" link for the trailer, since the YouTube link is down -
